TRUNK KLASSIC CAR SHOW

The 1st Annual Trunk Klassic Car Show was a great success! Thank you to all our vendors, sponsors and participants. We had over 60 Cars show up for this extraordinary event at the Gwinnett Place Mall (July 12th 2008). Personally, it was heartfelt to see everyone come out and support our first event and cause through Operation Groundwerk Youth Foundation – providing underprivileged kids with school supplies for the 2008-2009 School year. Despite some minor flaws throughout the event, we as a community came together and that says a lot about each of us. Big THANK YOU to the volunteers that made our raffle ticket campaign a huge success. We generated over $1000, a big portion of which came from raffle tickets. Leather Creations gave away a $750 gift certificate for custom leather furniture. Atlanta Detail Masters gave away $150 gift certificate towards their platinum detail package. The Atlanta Dream (WNBA Franchise) offered a fully autographed basketball by all its players along with 2 courtside tickets and a fully autograph t-shirt and jersey. It's About Time (North Point and Perimeter mall locations) gave away $100 gift certificate towards anything (wrist watch, wall clock, accessories etc) in their stores. Ferrari of Atlanta offered 2 model Ferrari cars, a Ferrari laptop bag and Ferrari hat. Thank you to YearOne, Summit Racing, Firestone, TirePlus for sponsoring our goodie bags with free oil changes and $100 gift cards.

The Car Show really came together as I envisioned it. Everyone enjoyed lots of fun, great music (RocHarder Ent), great food provided by Showtime Hotdogs and Smoothie King, the opportunity to network and make new friends and, most of all, a beautiful sunny day. Once again, thank you to everyone for their support and I definitely look forward to doing it again with everyone in 2009-- only BIGGER and BETTER with a lot more FUN and lots to give away!!!

OPERATION GROUNDWERK YOUTH FOUDATION:

OPGYF was founded in February, 2006 on the values of educating and building confidence in our youths of tomorrow. We believe that teaching a healthy lifestyle, leadership and the importance of education and teamwork promote the essential values and lay the “Groundwerk” necessary to achieve one’s ambitions. As our foundation continues to grow, so will our own ambitions to consistently propel today’s youth in the right direction. Operation Groundwerk Youth Foundation strives to bring the best out of every youth and to enrich the communities in which it operates.

As Another one of our primary objectives is to empower today’s youth with the “power of the vote” through educational workshops; similarly, we will teach the importance of exercising that right so that youth can play an important role in economically uplifting and enhancing their local communities in order to bring about positive changes.
